Profile

This dual-purpose hop is versatile and can be used in all hop additions throughout the brewing process. What stands out prominently about Bergamot is its unmistakable orange aroma. This characteristic is so dominant that it has earned the hop a playful nickname, "O.A.F." (presumably standing for Orange Aroma Forward), from the brewers in the GLH Brew Group who have crafted exceptional trial brews using Bergamot. But the orange isn't the only star here: Bergamot boasts a rich aroma profile that includes notes of mango, dankness, cherry, zest, lemongrass, lime aid, juniper, and orange juice. This diverse flavor profile, especially its pronounced citrusy notes, makes it a favorite for crafting standout IPAs.
